I'm not upset. No need to regret bringing the topic up.

I once read that the dust to dust cost of a prius on the environment is worse than a hummer. Google for it. Studies on both sides are biased of course.

I have a really hard time believing that keeping two vehicles is cost effective or good for the environment. I drive a big truck, but I also only live 4 miles from work. I don't care about miles/gallon even if gas prices reach $10/gallon since I mostly drive for pleasure.

is this a joke? the commentator seem like he has never been offroad before. its obvious why the didnt let him drive up hells gate. if you got a YJ and put 5000 in to it that jeep would out wheel this hummer all day long. WASTE OF MONEY!!!

Absolutely a short wheelbase YJ could outperform a long wheelbase H3T on the trail but you're making a lopsided comparison. I can do that too. Good luck towing more than 2,000 pounds or using your YJ for hauling. The H3T tows up to almost 6,000 pounds and has lots more room for passengers and cargo.

x2 haha. A YJ is good for the trail, THAT IS IT. I owned one. With this, you can bring the fam, do it in comfort, and tow a heavy boat. I like them even though i own a heavily modded FJ cruiser.

you missed his point. You can buy a mint YJ for $6,000 and put $5,000 and have an $11,000 Jeep that out wheels a ~$30,000 Hummer.

regardless, a YJ doesn't need $5,000 in mods anyways, a stock one with good tires would be all you need out there, so make that a $6,000 Jeep that can outwheel a ~$30,000 Hummer

that argument is moot anyways, you could say the same thing against a new Rubicon vs. an older Jeep with mods.
