| SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
General Motors announced today that it had awarded the Bush
administration the first annual "Hummer? Like Nothing
Else" award. As the maker of Hummer, General
Motors decided to create an award to recognize outstanding
achievements on behalf
of Hummers that mirror the brand's motto, "Like Nothing Else."
At the presentation of the award, General Motors representatives
stood teary-eyed and recounted their joy of first hearing
about the Bush Administration's decision to allow Hummer
buyers to write off up to $100,000 of the purchase of the
vehicle.
Hummer spokesperson, Leonard Melton said it was the
least the company could do. "The Bush Administration has been
good to us," said Melton. "They created a tax break that actually
pays people to buy a Hummer. What more could you ask for?
This Administration continues to show time and time again
that they are truly Like Nothing Else." |

President Bush accepts his "Like Nothing Else" Award from General Motors, recognising his contribution to sales of the Hummer H2.

Former General Motors chief lobbyist and current White House Chief of
Staff, Andrew Card was on hand to accept the award on behalf of the
Administration. "On behalf of the Bush Administration, I want to once
again affirm our commitment to putting more Hummers on the road, no matter
the cost," stated Card. "When I was at General Motors, we could only dream
of the day when we could put a vehicle on the road that releases 57 times
its weight in pollution. I am happy to say that this day has arrived." |
